Napelite: Take 2

He's on the move again!

Mike Napoli now finds himself back in the AL West, with Toronto trading him to the Rangers for Frank Francisco.

To piggy back on the article posted a few days back, my stance on Napoli is the same, plus now a real guarantee for 35 HRs.

We haven't seen power at the C position with this much potential in a long time. The past leaders were:

2010: Mike Napoli (26)
2009: Joe Mauer (28)
2008: Brian McCann, Geovany Soto (23)
2007: Victor Martinez (25)
2006: Jorge Posada, Ramon Hernandez (23)
2005: Jason Varitek (22)
2004: Javy Lopez, Victor Martinez (23)
2003: Jorge Posada (30)
2002: Mike Piazza (33)
2001: Mike Piazza (36)
2000: Mike Piazza (38)

You have to go 7 years back to crack 30 homeruns. No one has had this type of power potential since Mike Piazza, a perennial top 25 pick in those late 90s and early 2000s.

Mike Napoli will top 35 homeruns this year. It's time to draft him where you draft other hitters with 35+ homerun power. And in 2012, we can all point and laugh at the Angels for ignoring him because he's not an "old school catcher" or whatever anti-SABR crap they kept talking about.
