2010 is looking like a 2b deep year for fantasy baseball but if you're not willing to pay top dollar for a first or second tier two bagger then you might want to consider Howie Kendrick. Over at Mockdraftcentral there's a pretty big gap between Dan Uggla (ADP 86,) Jose Lopez (ADP 121,) and Kendrick (ADP 144.) I'd rather have Uggla than Kendrick but unless I really need a few extra HR's I'd rather have Kendrick than Lopez, especially if I can get him two rounds later in a draft.
Kendrick hit HR to all fields in 2010 and only one of his shots was "just enough" according to hittrackeronline.com. Lopez, on the other hand, showed power only to extreme left and had six "just enough" and two "lucky" HR's out of his total of twenty-five. He also plays in one of the worst HR parks in the league, which showed up in his 7/18 home/road HR splits last year.
Kendrick had the highest ISO of his career last year and he's always a candidate to breakout so if you draft him you can count on his excellent BA and servicable other numbers, while hoping for more.
Note: If you play in an OBP league then consider Rickie Weeks (ADP 201) when looking for the same kind of value Kendrick might offer this year.
