Razzball.com Reverse League

Rotosavants along with some other bloggers, are taking part in Razzball's reverse league this year.

What's a reverse league? It's the magical land where Willy Taveras, Michael Bourn, and Jason Bartlett are actual MVPs. The cumulative points league breaks down scoring like this:

Batting Points: +2 AB, +2 K, -3 H, - 4 R, -4 RBI, -10 HR
Pitching Points: - 1 IP, -1 K, +1 BB, +4 HR, +8 L, +1 H, +1.5 ER

Strange, huh? After my initial analysis, I found out that starting pitchers, even with the -1 to IP actually generate a TON of points. Much to my satisfaction, Gavin Floyd was the #5 overall player in this format, but I missed trying to draft him at value.

For pitching, I focused on low K, high flyball pitchers, hoping the move to Colorado completely wrecks Greg Smith(Geaux Tigers), and that Ozzie will give Clayton Richard the ball every 5 days.

For hitting, I focused on guys with tons of steals or minimal power with high Ks that still have a real shot of 500 ABs. Carlos Guillen was probably my most satisfying pick as he locked up the two hardest positions in the draft and is really declining. 1B was an impossible position, since most all starting 1Bs who get at bats will produce, and Overbay was the closest I found to 2008 Daric Barton. I regret the Bourn pick (he was #1 overall last year) since Taveras is probably never leaving Dusty's lineup card.

After our draft last night I ended up with the following roster. Let us know how you think these loveable losers will compete!
