I thought a list of Closers to be concerned about for the final two months would be good. I grouped them by trade candidates, injury concern or if they just plain suck.
Trade Candidates -
Brian Fuentes
Damaso Marte
George Sherrill
John Rauch
Houston Street
Rauch and Street are the leak likeliest in my position. Marte has picked up more rumors and being they are all lefties I suspect 2 of the 3 go. Any team they go to will put them in setup or lefty duty and they will only be middle relievers.
Injury Concerns -
Mike Gonzalez
Kerry Wood
Billy Wagner
BJ Ryan
Wood is already down while Wagner got a clean MRI and is only day to day. Ryan and Gonzalez are both dangerous injury possibilities following long surgery recoveries.
Just Plain Suck -
Brandon Lyon
Jose Valverde
Brian Wilson
Masahide Kobayashi
Todd Jones
Troy Percival
CJ Wilson
Not much to say about this list. Lyon appears headed to middle relief.
