Players to Avoid - Darrell Rasner / Ryan Ludwick

Pitcher - Darrell Rasner

The ownership will keep rising and then drop real quick on this one. His stats all point to a recession. Here are his stats so far:

GS 4
W 3
ERA 1.80
IP 25
K/9 5.04
BB/9 1.08
K/BB 4.67
BABIP .221
GB% 32.5%

So lets start with the easy one, which is the BABIP. That will not stay that low with that aging bunch. Next is his GB% which is low and can't go well with that low K/9. Also look at this review at Crooked Pitch.

Players to own instead: Ubaldo Jimenez, Jose Contreras, or Doug Davis.

Hitter - Ryan Ludwick

Don't take this the wrong way. He is not a drop canidate or not someone to roster, but it is time to sell him quick if you own him. Here is the current stats:

G 45
HR 13
R 31
RBI 38
Ave .333
OBP .411
K% 28.4%
ISO .390
BABIP .386

Here are the warning signs. His BABIP is to high firstly and will drop hi average. This will also be caused by his k rate which is to high for a .300 hitter. His career average is .266 so expect something along those lines. His ISO is as high as lance Berkman's right now so I think we can all understand it will not stay there. His career number is .230 so that should be a target along with a decrease in HR/FB which is currently at 28.3%. If you can move him for a quality pitcher I would strongly recommend it.

Players to own instead: Jack Cust, Randy Winn, or Ben Francisco. Do not drop Ludwick first though. Try to make a trade first. Otherwise use him until he gets cold and then make a switch.
